Cuba Can't Wait: Help Us Bring Relief and Hope

September 3–8, the Missions Everywhere team will once again travel to Cuba.

This wasn't a trip we had originally planned.

After returning from Ukraine, we received heartbreaking updates from our friends and ministry partners in Cuba. As we listened to their stories and saw the worsening conditions, it became clear that we couldn't wait. While the world often overlooks what is happening there, the people we know and love are facing a humanitarian crisis every single day.

A Nation in Crisis

Life in Cuba has become increasingly difficult.

Most families are living with only 2–3 hours of electricity each day. Refrigerators can't keep food cold, causing it to spoil and leaving many people sick. Fuel shortages have left countless people without transportation, making it impossible for many to get to work. Hospitals and medical clinics are struggling to operate because they simply don't have the electricity they need.

These aren't temporary inconveniences.

This is everyday life for millions of people.

Without electricity, there is no refrigeration, no reliable medical care, no fans during the intense Caribbean heat, and very little hope that tomorrow will be any different from today.

Why We're Going

Over the years, God has allowed Missions Everywhere to build meaningful relationships throughout Cuba. We've served alongside pastors, worshipped with churches, prayed with families, and shared both the joys and hardships of life together.

These aren't strangers.

They're our friends.

They're our brothers and sisters in Christ.

We know we can't solve every problem facing Cuba, but we also know that God has called us to care for the people He places in our lives. If we can bring relief to even one family, encourage one pastor, or remind one child that they haven't been forgotten, then the trip is worth taking.

A Simple Fan Can Change Someone's Day

One of the greatest needs right now is something many of us take for granted—a fan.

Our goal is to take as many 9–10 inch rechargeable fans as possible. We are specifically looking for fans that can be charged by both a standard electrical outlet and, even more importantly, by solar power.

When the power is out, there are no fans and no air conditioning. Families must leave their windows open in hopes of catching a breeze, exposing themselves to mosquitoes and the mosquito-borne illnesses that are common throughout the region.

To us, a rechargeable fan may seem like a small item.

To a family living through extreme heat with almost no electricity, it provides comfort, relief, better sleep, and a reminder that someone cares.

More Than Supplies

While we will be bringing practical items, this trip is about far more than delivering supplies.

We'll be encouraging pastors who faithfully serve despite overwhelming challenges.

We'll be praying with families who are struggling to meet even their most basic needs.

We'll be sharing the hope of Jesus Christ with people who desperately need to know they have not been forgotten.

Our mission has always been to meet physical needs while pointing people to the One who gives lasting hope.
