Honoring Faithful Servants: Gary and Marie Dawson

At Missions Everywhere, we are continually reminded that behind every mission effort are faithful men and women who have devoted their lives to serving others and sharing the love of Christ. Few embody this commitment more fully than missionaries Gary and Marie Dawson.

For more than 37 years, Gary and Marie have faithfully served among the Yanomamö people of Venezuela, building relationships, nurturing faith, and meeting both spiritual and practical needs in some of the most remote regions of the world. Their long-term commitment has made a lasting impact on countless lives and continues to shape the future of these communities.

Throughout their ministry, Gary has served in many vital roles. From maintaining the mission base and leading community development efforts to directing mission operations, he has worked tirelessly to ensure that ministry can continue effectively. In addition, Gary has played an instrumental role in Bible translation, men’s discipleship, curriculum development, and responding to medical emergencies—often stepping in wherever the need is greatest.

Marie’s ministry has been just as wide-reaching and impactful. She has been deeply involved in education, serving in both the Yanomamö school and the American school for missionary children. In these roles, she has not only taught students but has also trained teachers and developed curriculum to strengthen learning for future generations. Beyond the classroom, Marie has faithfully served as a midwife and medical worker in the villages, offering care, compassion, and hope to families in critical moments.

Through the generosity of our supporters, Missions Everywhere has been able to partner with the Dawsons in practical ways. One important area of support has been helping provide funding for fuel, allowing Gary and Marie to travel by river to reach remote villages and transport essential supplies. These journeys are vital to sustaining ministry in isolated regions, and your support makes them possible.
